  • People not interested in joining the company but would like to attend OPEN workshops and classes, please check back under the CALENDAR tab.

  • Founding members will work closely together to create the focused "style" we wish to achieve by integrating classical world theater techniques. Becoming a company member will give an opportunity for specialized classes and training throughout the year.

 Teen Theater Conservatory

A Muse of Fire will offer a theater conservatory approach  to learning every summer, for three weeks starting in July of 2019

Created and designed by Susan Kelejian, Artistic Director (see bio in About Us.)

  • Designed for students ages 13-18, A Muse of Fire will accept students from all schools, including home schools, in the Ojai Valley and surrounding areas (Ventura, Santa Paula, Santa Barbara, Oxnard, etc).
  • Acceptance will be an interview process only.
  • We will select approximately 8 students for our program which match our criteria.
  • Once a student is enrolled, they will audition and cast in a  scene, while asst. directing, stage managing, and designing for other scenes which will be part of a showcase production at the end of the 3 weeks.
  • Students will learn a variety of techniques, skills, styles.
  •  Instructors and mentors will be theater professionals.
  • 2 partial, 2 full scholarships available due to need

Stylization and technique will be stressed while being involved in a professional training environment.

The conservatory is limited and will be by interview selection in March & April of 2019. Some of the criteria for the teen  program is as follows:

  • Personal responsibility
  • Interest in theater
  • Willingness to learn new things
  • A desire to work in an ensemble
  • Positive attitude
  • Open to taking direction
  • Not afraid of hard work
  • Want to have fun!
  
Not only do we want our students to learn the needed techniques of professional theater, but our goal is also to help create positive, engaged and responsible young adults in our community that can apply what they learn to any aspect of their lives.

     M-F   10am - 4pm
    Some possible weekend rehearsals
    Cost for the program is $295.00
   Some partial and full scholarships available

  • Understanding Shakespeare
  • World Theater Classical Styles (Greek, Moliere, American Classic, etc.)
  • Voice
  • Movement
  • Commedia
  • Improvisation
  • Stage Combat
  • Costume & Prop Design
  • Theater Etiquette & professional acumen
